Large-size PET containers: Contiform S is the ideal machine to handle this task
The Mexican soft drinks producer Fersan, Puebla, has found a plausible answer to the high-volume business in Mexico’s soft drinks market: its PET containers are simply a touch bigger than their counterparts from the competition and offer that little bit extra in terms of quantity. In Mexico, large-size PET containers holding more than 3 liters have become popular as family packs for cola beverages and carbonated soft drinks. The family firm of Fersan has made it a policy to go one better: instead of the widespread 2.5-l bottle, it uses a 2.6-l bottles, and instead of the familiar 3.0-l bottle a 3.3 l size. For this purpose, Fersan has installed a complete Krones line at its facility in Puebla. The integrated Contiform S8 blow-molding machine, with its eight cavities, is set up for producing PET bottles in the above-mentioned sizes from 0.6 l to 3.3 l. Fersan has thus commissioned its first complete line from Krones.
