McIlhenny means hot sauce – in 25 languages and 200 countries

For 140 years McIlhenny company’s TABASCO® brand has become synonymous with hot sauce. Its 2-oz. bottled sauces in red, green, habañero, and garlic flavors, are favored by consumers world-wide for food flavor and zest. 

Today, McIlhenny’s distinctive labels in 25 different languages are attached to the tiny glass bottles by Krones labelers. But that was not always the case.

Krones – No condensation, no nonsense
When new machines were needed, McIlhenny purchasing manager Ricky Venable headed to Krones. “We had compiled enough information to realize that we needed Krones labelers,” said Venable.

Venable outfitted three lines, including the Prontomatic rotary cold-glue labeler; SynCo Container Conveyor; Energy Concept; and Bottle Drying System. The Drying System and labeler work as a tag team. The Drying System creates a moisture-free, label-ready bottle. The Prontomatic provides proper label placement and adhesion.

Premium performance, premium product
Performance improvements were measurable immediately, said Venable. Efficiency hit 98 percent. Production rose to 350 bottles per minute.Venable was impressed with Krones’ service, 24/7 phone support, and technician quality assurance visits. “I’ve been involved in projects and purchases over the last 10 years. I can say that this has been one of the most rewarding for us.”
