Building blocks for a bottling line update
Labatt is using Krones technology to keep its bottling plants up-to-date. Labatt Breweries updated two beer bottling lines with Krones machines in La Salle, Quebec, just outside Montreal.
Bottling line for 650ml and 710ml glass bottles – at 30,000 bph
- Mecafill VKPV filler
Mecafill VKP is a level filler that's based on a mechanical filling principle using electro pneumatic controls. The VKPV is designed specifically for beer. Two pre-evacuation stages create a vacuum inside the bottles to ensure low-oxygen filling.
Bottling line for 341ml glass bottles – at 90,000 bph
- Double-deck Sander Hansen channel pasteurizer
The Sander Hansen channel pasteurizer features a unique channel concept, low water volumes in each treatment zones, fine-tuned PU control, and the resource-saving central heating exchange system supply (CHESS). Cost effectiveness, fast heating, and precise maintenance of the set pasteurization units are the basis for safeguarding optimum product quality. - SynCo conveyors
SynCo conveyors use glideliner technology to move bottles into the labeler in a single lane. Microprocessor controls and PE sensors control the flow of containers and ensure that the arriving bottles are merged from multiple lanes into a single lane without pressure, gently and securely. - Topmatic labeler
Precision label application, low glue consumption, and a high hygiene standard are some of the features that make this cold glue labeling system stand out. - Checkmat inspector
In Labatt’s line, the flexible Checkmat system is used to check for fill level and cap and label positioning. In addition, an integrated taptone ultrasound device checks for internal pressure and the cap seal integrity.
