Nestlé Waters North America chooses Krones blow molders
Nestlé Waters North America is a big fish in the North American water market, with 16 bottling plants that produce their own PET single-serve and family-size bottles ranging from 8 oz. to 3 liters. After a highly successful six-month trial run of a new Krones line for 500 ml bottles – with a stretch blow molder, water filler, and two modular labelers – at the Hawkins, Texas, plant, Nestlé Waters has ordered more Contiform blow molders from Krones.
- Contiform SK stretch blow-molding machine
This Contiform is the first Krones stretch blow-molder to operate in one of Nestlé Waters North America's plants. Originally designed to handle 60,000 bph, the Contiform has already proven to be reliable, easy to operate and capable of producing high-quality PET containers at 64,000 bph.
The 40-unit small-cavity Contiform SK is a stretch blow-molder capable of producing PET bottles in various designs up to 750 ml at an extremely high speed of 60,000 bph.
The small-cavity machine is based on the same platform as the 16- and 24-unit machines. If used to produce only small bottles, it can achieve huge outputs on a tiny footprint. - Sensometic VPG filler
The electronic short tube filling system with probe-based fill level control is designed for conductive products that can be filled without pressure or with only slight pressure on the ring bowl (up to 0.5 bars). The single chamber system can be equipped with control valves for a fast or slow filling phase. - 2 Starmodul labelers
Each of these modular labelers has a Canmatic labeling station and a Contiroll labeling station, which can be changed over quickly and handles hot-glue labels. The Canmatic station is used for applying precut wraparound labels. The Contiroll station is used for reel-fed labels.
