Global premiere for the Krones Modulpal 1 ADR

Innovative single-column palletising robot for the high-speed segment

The Modulpal 1 ADR is a new palletiser design from Krones AG, Neutraubling, Germany, for the high output range of up to 600 layers an hour. It features components from the modularised Krones Modulpal family, and can thus utilise tried-and-tested assemblies of reassuringly sturdy construction. For the first time, this machine enables very high outputs to be palletised at a single pallet loading position. Supplied by a grouping system, the Modulpal 1 ADR, with its two lifting units and two gripper heads, deposits the packs on just one single loading position; hitherto, this kind of output had necessitated a double-position palletiser. The completely new concept also enables this high output to be achieved with a floor-level pack infeed, significantly facilitating accessibility for the operator and rendering platforms superfluous. The Modulpal 1 ADR was premiered for a global public at interpack 2008.

Versatile gripper systems
With the compactly dimensioned, space-saving Modulpal 1 ADR single-column palletising robot, Krones is putting its range of palletisers on new foundations. Servo-drive technology, versatile gripper systems and vastly enhanced flexibility are the salient features of this palletiser. The shutter-type gripper head for handling non-returnable packs provides a high level of handling dependability. Maximised flexibility in handling crates is assured by the different gripper tools for returnables, like hook- or clamp-type gripper heads. The harmonised dimensions of the gripper heads facilitate flexible change-over to new layer patterns or different pallets.

The lifting units in the Modulpal 1 ADR have been dimensioned for moving heavy loads of up to 700 kg. The axis drive with servomotors ensures movements of high dynamic response and maximised reproducibility in the palletising operation. 

The Modulpal 1 ADR can be used for both palletising and depalletising crates, and for palletising cartons, film-wrapped packs and multipacks. The output spectrum is approximately 500 layers an hour for non-returnables and 600 layers an hour for returnable packs.
